2. _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n__I_n_f_o_r_m_a_t_i_o_n
This chapter lists supplemental information to the _I_R_I_S
_S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e. The information listed here is
product- and release-specific; use it with the Installation
Guide to install this product.
2.1 _N_e_t_s_c_a_p_e__N_a_v_i_g_a_t_o_r__L_i_t_e__S_u_b_s_y_s_t_e_m_s
Netscape Navigator Lite includes these subsystems:

includes additional language
dictionaries for the spelling
checker within Netscape
Composer.
_n_e_t_s_c_a_p_e__l_i_t_e._s_w._j_a_p_a_n_e_s_e This is the subsystem that
includes the Japanese UI
customizations.
_n_e_t_s_c_a_p_e__l_i_t_e._s_w._k_o_r_e_a_n This is the Korean
localization files.
_n_e_t_s_c_a_p_e__l_i_t_e._s_w._o_3_2__c_l_i_e_n_t This is the subsystem that
includes the O32 browser.
_n_e_t_s_c_a_p_e__l_i_t_e._s_w._o_3_2__j_i_t This is the subsystem that
includes the SGI JIT (Just In
Time) Java Compiler.
_n_e_t_s_c_a_p_e__l_i_t_e._s_w._s_e_s_s_i_o_n__d_i_r_e_c_t_o_r_y This is the MBone session
directory utility.
2.2 _N_e_t_s_c_a_p_e _N_a_v_i_g_a_t_o_r _L_i_t_e _S_u_b_s_y_s_t_e_m _D_i_s_k _S_p_a_c_e
_R_e_q_u_i_r_e_m_e_n_t_s
This section lists the subsystems (and their sizes) of the
Netscape Navigator Lite product.

You can use the software installation instructions in the
_P_e_r_s_o_n_a_l _S_y_s_t_e_m _A_d_m_i_n_i_s_t_r_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e to install this
product. If you are installing this software for the first
time, the default subsystems are installed if you click the
_I_n_s_t_a_l_l _A_u_t_o_m_a_t_i_c_a_l_l_y button. To install a different set of
subsystems, click the _C_u_s_t_o_m_i_z_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n button and make
your new selections. Then click the _S_t_a_r_t button to launch
the installation.
Note: The listed subsystem sizes are approximate. Refer to
the _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _A_d_m_i_n_i_s_t_r_a_t_o_r'_s _G_u_i_d_e for
information on finding exact sizes.

2.3 _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n__M_e_t_h_o_d
All of the subsystems for Netscape Navigator Lite can be
installed using IRIX. You do not need to use the miniroot.
Refer to the _I_R_I_S _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e for complete
installation instructions.
2.4 _C_o_m_p_a_t_i_b_i_l_i_t_y
These images of Netscape Navigator Lite are not compatible
with Netscape Communications Corp.'s images of Netscape
Navigator Standalone Edition. If you have previously
installed Netscape Communications' images, you should remove
them before installing these images.
2.5 _C_o_n_f_i_g_u_r_a_t_i_o_n__F_i_l_e_s
Two files are installed that should be configured when
updating releases. Both files reside in
/_v_a_r/_n_e_t_s_c_a_p_e/_c_o_m_m_u_n_i_c_a_t_o_r and are called _m_a_i_l_c_a_p and
_m_i_m_e._t_y_p_e_s. These files help configure the browser when
accessing multi-media objects over the network. Currently
they are tuned to work with the tools that are shipped with
these images. However, as you may install other media
players you may wish to configure them to access your new
players. Both of these files can also be referenced in the
user's home directory. This is configurable in the
browser's preferences options on a per user basis.
2.6 _M_o_r_e
Once the browser is installed, users may customize how it
interacts with the network. These customizations are on the
"Preferences..." menu item on the "Edit" menu. If your
system is behind a firewall, see your system's administrator
for information on how to get through the firewall.
